Tuning and Commissioning
Commissioning verifies that what was installed matches what was designed, and tuning makes the installed system perform to its potential in the finished room. Both are done with measurement, not by ear alone, and both are documented.
What This Covers
- 01Verification that every loudspeaker is connected, aimed, and working as designed
- 02Gain structure through the whole signal chain
- 03Polarity and wiring checks
- 04Crossover optimization between loudspeakers and subwoofers
- 05Delay alignment across distributed zones
- 06Equalization based on measurement in the completed space
- 07Level balancing between zones and confirmation of maximum operating levels
- 08Listening evaluation with program material representative of the venue
Why It Matters
A room changes acoustically as it is finished — soft furniture, glass, and drapery all arrive late. Tuning after the space is complete is what turns a correctly installed system into one that sounds right on opening night, and it catches installation faults while they can still be corrected easily.
When It Happens
After installation is complete and the space is substantially finished — ideally with furniture and soft goods in place, and before opening.
Working With Other Trades
Scheduled with the general contractor around the finishing sequence, because tuning a room that is still a construction site produces results that will not hold.
- 01
Sound System Design
Complete system architecture based on venue dimensions, usage, acoustic conditions, coverage requirements, operating levels, and client objectives.
- 02
Equipment Specification
Professional selection of loudspeakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, processors, networking, control interfaces, racks, and supporting infrastructure.
- 03
Acoustic and Coverage Planning
Speaker positioning, dispersion analysis, zoning, delay strategy, level planning, and system-performance evaluation.

Not sure which stage your project needs?
Most projects start with a short conversation about the venue and where it stands. We will tell you what is worth doing now and what can wait.
